What is the Builder APP?
The Builder APP is a free mobile phone application and website that can be downloaded and used on an iPhone or smartphone.

Once downloaded, it will allow the user to connect to a directory of builders, tradies and suppliers anywhere in Australia. It works via the GPS on a phone, so it automatically displays the nearest tradies to the consumer. It is like the Yellow Pages on your mobile phone but built specifically as a trade/supplier directory.

Who is it for?
The Builder APP is for anyone looking for a tradesperson to do a specific job in their area or a supplier for a DIY job.

It is a tool for your potential customers to find you, find out about your business and contact you instantly.

What does it do?
The Builder APP places businesses into two categories: TRADE and SUPPLIER.

Depending on your business, your information is sorted by business sector (building & construction, carpentry… etc.).

The most popular use of the app is the “Get Quotes” function. Potential clients post a job request via the Builder APP and the job information will be sent out to businesses in that category and area with in a 25km radius (metro, broader in regional areas). You can then contact the client direct if you wish to quote on the job or leave it if it is not of interest to you. Clients can also search for your business or your name specifically and contact you directly.

What are the costs for an HIA member?
There are 2 Plans to choose from.

Now that the complimentary period is over, am I locked in ?
No. If you choose not to continue, your information will be removed from the site.

How much notice do I need to give after the complimentary period expires?
Members get 1 month, after the complimentary period, to notify if they no longer wish to be part of The Builder APP. This deadline is August 15th, 2012.

How do I update my details on the Builder APP?
A password will be emailed to each HIA member once they are in the system (either via HIA or from The Builder APP). With this password you can sign in and have full access to your company details. You can edit your profile this way. The password also allows you to access your Job Wall which is where you can view all current jobs that have been posted in your area and categories. Please note: if you need to make changes to your details or profile you will need to update through Tradebuild.com.au separately.
