The building industry is in demand for skilled tradespeople. HIA is committed to finding and supporting the needs of current and future apprentices to help develop their skills for a brighter future.

HIA and its valued partners will award full and partial training scholarships across Australia to help offset the cost of HIA training fees for Nationally Recognised Training (NRT) courses ranging up to $7,200.

Scholarships are available for the following Nationally Recognised Training

  • Certificate IV in Building and Construction:

    • Building
    • Site Management
    • Estimating
    • Contract Administration
  • Builders Registration Pathway – Short courses (WA only)

Each state or territory provides courses covering specific requirements in regards to qualifications needed to gain a required licence. For more information on the courses available in your state or territory click here. (Please note your course preference on the nomination form)

If your application is unsuccessful, you may still re-apply for future HIA training scholarships.

HIA Training Scholarships are awarded twice a year. Closing dates are 30 April and 31 October.
