Australia’s very own motor sports champion, Marcos Ambrose, on behalf of JELD-WEN, has teamed up with HIA to encourage young people to reach their full potential and achieve their goals.

Through hard work, commitment and listening to the guidance of others, Marcos has reached his goal of racing cars at the highest level.

“I know that I’m still a trainee myself in many ways”. Marcos said from his base in North Carolina, the home of NASCAR “I know that my role models inspired me to stay focused and keep learning; and I look forward to sharing that experience with HIA’s ‘Build Your Future’ program’.”

Marcos Ambrose's career in a snapshot:

  • Born in Launceston, Tasmania, in 1976, Ambrose showed signs of interest and racing ability from an early age.
  • He won four Tasmanian Junior karting titles before commencing senior competition at the age of 16.
  • In 1996, Ambrose left Australia to chase a career with Formula One in England.
  • Stone Brothers Racing and Ford signed Ambrose in 2001 to compete in the V8 Supercar Championship Series.
  • After earning two V8 Supercar championships, Ambrose was in search of a new opportunity on American soil.
  • In 2005, a chance meeting with Tad Geschickter changed his life. A relationship grew and the bond between JTG Daugherty Racing and Ambrose began.
  • Today Ambrose embarks upon his second full-time NASCAR Sprint Cup season with JTG Daugherty Racing behind the wheel of the No. 47 Toyota.
