Prime costs and provisional sums and residential building contracts for new dwellings (NSW)
A Prime Cost item is an item that, at the time of the contract, is not selected but is to be selected by the owner. A PC allowance is the cost to the owner for the supply of the item only. A PC does not include any installation cost or the costs of other work related to the PC.

Renovations Investment to Turn Around
With further house price gains and an increasingly resilient looking labour market, consumer sentiment is up and investment in renovations is forecast to grow this financial year. HIA is forecasting investment to grow by 2 per cent in 2009/10 and by a further 8 per cent out to 2011/12. The renovations market is forecast to be worth $32.8 billion, a new record, in 2011/12.
