Victorian Planning Minister Rob Hulls has announced a new taskforce to oversee the creation of the Growth Areas Authority. Former Delfin Managing Director and AV Jennings Chief Executive Officer Chris Banks will head the new taskforce. Rob Spence, CEO of the Municipal Association of Victoria and Carol Schwartz, the Director of Highpoint Property Group and chair of the Industry Superannuation Property Trust will be the other two members of the taskforce. A new residential 3 zone-height control will be considered by the City of Melbourne’s Planning Committee on Tuesday 5 September. Should the proposed new zone be approved by Council, a mandatory 9 metre height restriction will be introduced in parts of South Yarra, Kensington, Parkville, Carlton, East Melbourne and Jolimont and North and West Melbourne.
