Originally constructed in 1929, this building had many unsympathetic extensions over the years and the building was in poor condition. It has been transformed by Better Building Services into an energy efficient, smart home which retains a portion of the original 1920s heritage residence. The quality of construction is impeccable and the level of finish outstanding. The judges commented that: ‘This project exhibits exceptional workmanship. The construction and engineering were extremely complex as no level overlaid the level below’. It is a remarkable achievement considering the heritage restrictions.
