Congratulations Xavier Wakefield and David Wakefield, DWA, TAS
This spacious contemporary family home with stunning bush views was designed by DWA to embrace the natural surrounds, project clean lines and above all create a simple and fully functional home. The design draws on the three key characteristics of the site (contours, rocky outcrops and vegetation), representing the contours in the general sculptural form, the rock in the hard metal cladding, and the vegetation in the timber cladding. The house is orientated north-east for morning and midday sun in winter but is sheltered from summer sun with wide eaves. The home features excellent cross-ventilation and various energy efficient appliances for optimum sustainability.
