There is a common myth among builders that a contract will only be binding if both parties have signed an original. This is simply not the case.
The key for a binding building contract is acceptance of the contractual terms. Unfortunately, many builders waste valuable time waiting to receive original copies of documents through the mail when clients are overseas.

ABN Essentials Trap #2
A common trap occurs when a supplier has an ABN, is not registered for GST, yet includes GST in its invoice. The trap is that the payer, upon receiving such an invoice, doesn’t realise that the supplier is not registered for GST yet pays the supplier the whole invoice amount, including the GST.
