In a town like Cairns word of mouth is everything. HIA Business Partner Emma Kilfoy of Kilfoy Cabinets knows this better than most. ‘Most of our business is from referrals, so our business operating philosophy is to do it once, do it right and give people what they’ve asked for at a competitive price,’ says Emma. Tradies often have a bad name, she adds, and Kilfoy Cabinets makes every effort not to add to the bad reputation. The approach seems to be working.
Since opening the doors of Kilfoy Cabinets in 2003 Emma and husband Shaun’s business has evolved from basically a two-person band to employing six people – and always looking for more.
