National Construction Code - What is it?

Proposed Changes to BCA 2011 – Volume 2 (Housing Provisions) (Nat)
BCA 2011 will apply to all projects with building approvals submitted after 1 May 2011, subject to any transitional provisions that apply in your state. Ensure the energy rating on your windows is WERS to be confident of true performance (Nat)
WERS (window energy rating scheme) is designed to look specifically at window ratings to improve the comfort of homes. The main purpose of energy efficiency in a residential application is to reduce the amount of times the heating and cooling appliances are turned on and off. WERS rated residential windows have star ratings and percentage improvements to help give an easy comparison of windows. WERS is currently the only AFRC accredited system for rating windows in Australia required for compliance to the building code of Australia’s glazing provisions

Australian Consumer Law Reform – New consumer guarantee laws
Since 1 July 2010, a national unfair contract terms regime has been in place for all standard-form contracts with consumers. These laws were part the first phase of the “Australian Consumer Law” (ACL) reforms, a process designed to establish national, uniform consumer laws.
