This contemporary building uses a steeply pitched roof to link with surrounding building heights. Rising to frame the mountain views from the inside, the white Colorbond roof draws the colour out from the surrounding gum trees. With a need for the building to be open plan and with uninterrupted views from all angles, this project could only achieve its objectives using steel. Steel made it possible to achieve the necessary span and to create the twisted shapes which reflect the design concept. Corrugated cladding was also used for toughness, cost efficiency and ease of maintenance.
