    Business Partners help develop the ATO's new online calendar

    Another tax-related project that HIA’s BPN members have been heavily involved in, is the Small Business Tax Calendar. A half-joking challenge thrown out to the ATO by a BPN member via feedback being collated by HIA in 2005 provided the impetus for the development and recent release of an extremely useful online product for small business.

    Easing the Skills Squeeze

    A recent survey by HIA of all 13 construction industry trades shows that they all remain in short supply – adding to housing affordability problems. And while HIA strongly supports the Australian Government’s commitment to training Australians as the top priority to address skills shortages, it estimates that the industry needs an additional 20,000 skilled tradespeople in the next few years.

    Become GreenSmart And Help Your Business

    HIA GreenSmart is an industry driven program that aims to encourage a mainstream application of the benefits of environmentally responsible housing. GreenSmart is a voluntary initiative that focuses on educating builders, designers, product manufacturers and consumers, and it provides appropriate market place recognition for environmental endeavours in the residential construction industry.
