South Australia picked up two major honours at the Housing Industry Association’s 2006 awards in Brisbane tonight. (Sat May 6)
The South Australian HIA Housing Award winners are:
HIA-CGU Australian Professional Renovator Builder of the Year: Ross Lang Custom Homes.
Judges said the company has built a reputation for uncompromising quality and excellence, backed by many awards. It is the only South Australian builder to have won the HIA Australian Renovation Project of the Year award three times – in 1995, 2000 and 2004.
HIA-OneSteel Reinforcing Australian Customer Service Award: CSR Gyprock.
Judges said they were impressed at the amount of work put in by the Mawson Lakes-based company to ensure high-quality service to its clients.
The awards were made in front of a gala audience at Brisbane ’s Convention Centre, described by HIA Managing Director Ron Silberberg as one of the premier events on the Australian building industry calendar.
HIA is Australia ’s peak building industry body, representing 40,000 builders, suppliers and trade contractors in all states and territories. The industry is responsible for development projects, new homes, and renovation activity worth nearly $50 billion each year, and employs more than 350,000 people.
The association’s awards acknowledge excellence in housing construction, design, innovation and technology and recognise the talent of builders and building companies involved in the planning and construction of quality housing.
