In an age where climate change and the environmental credentials of building materials are important community values, Hyne is proud to offer more relevant structural softwood packages that are actually greenhouse positive. As a lifecycle approach to energy assessment takes hold, home owners will question the amount of energy used producing materials – not just whether they are low in impact on the site.
That’s where we can help. Still proudly privately owned after 125 years in operation, Hyne is a leading Australian manufacturer and distributor of engineered, structural and decorative softwood products to the building industry. All Hyne’s timber is sourced from sustainable managed plantations. Our logs are engineered for superior performance with minimal use of energy, which means that, unlike other building materials, they store more carbon than that used in their manufacture.
Plantation timber. It’s renewable, recyclable, waste efficient, biodegradable and non-toxic. Most of all, it absorbs carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, which is locked in and stored throughout the service life of the end-product. Choosing energy efficient plantation timber products plays a major role in ensuring a sustainable future.
That’s why Hyne is a proud sponsor of GreenSmart’s Resource Efficiency Housing Award.
