Insulation handbook helps explain the ins and outs (Nat)
A sharper focus on climate change and environmentally sensitive design has been the catalyst for a comprehensive new handbook for architects, designers, specifiers and builders about insulation and its role in creating energy-efficient buildings.
The 38-page independent publication, developed by the Insulation Council of Australia and New Zealand (ICANZ) aims to shed light on a range of issues including:
- Calculating the R-value of common construction systems
- Integrating insulation for reducing environmental impact and enhanced energy efficiencies of building
- Complying with the building code of Australia and energy rating software
- Identifying accepted industry installation practices
- The value of reflective foil insulation in typical building applications
