Certificate of Competency
You must convert your pre-1996 licences to the new National Certificate of Competency by 31 August 2006. A National Certificate of Competency is an OH&S licence that meets the national training framework and guidelines and is issued by the relevant WorkCover authority in each State/Territory. This enables national consistency and portability of OH&S qualifications.
Your pre-1996 OH&S licence WILL NOT BE RECOGNISED after 31 August.

What will happen if I don't convert prior to 31 August?
If you do not lodge your conversion application with WorkCover prior to the deadline you will be required to apply for a full re-assessment through a private assessor to obtain a national certificate of competency.
What do I need to do to convert?
If you have an original licence issued in NSW, lodge an application for conversion along with a proof of identity form (You can get a copy from WorkCover offices or http://www.workcover.nsw.gov.au/default.htm).
If you do not have the original license, lodge a replacement form as well as a proof of identity form. You also have to pay a $30 conversion fee.
