Your days will be varied and exciting. There will be office assignments and work out in the field. A specially designed personal development plan will ensure you experience the breadth of policy, commercial and operational areas.
Secondment Opportunities
We offer our staff opportunities to work in offices located in capital cities around Australia.
After extensive development, graduates will be seconded to capital city offices to gain experience of how the various regions operate.
Being a national organisation, HIA is increasingly relying on its staff being able to give advice to members across borders and jurisdictions.

What will You Learn
From your first day on the job you will be learning about the housing industry and the special role HIA has in providing services and advocacy for its members.
We will take a special interest in developing your skills, but we will also take into account your views on how your training program should be developed in areas such as leadership, conflict resolution and communication. You will understand the crucial role HIA plays in the development of policies that benefit our members, and our lobbying on behalf of those policies.
We care about your long-term career plans and will help you develop the specialist skills you need to be effective in your chosen field. At the same time we will ensure you have an awareness of the full range of services HIA provides. You will gain the knowledge to help members in a wide range of situations.
