YouthBUILD WA

The HIA youthBUILD Foundation represents a significant industry body that offers a range of programs to service students considering housing careers and at the same time strengthening the link between school, the building industry, business and community stakeholders.
The Housing Industry Association Ltd announced the commencement of the HIA youthBUILD Foundation in
Western Australia
in March 2006, with the HIA youthBUILD Keystart Loans project officially launched by the WA Housing and Works Minister Michelle Roberts on
24 August, 2006
.
In
Western Australia
, the Foundation is focussed on bringing education and industry together through the delivery of two projects in the residential construction industry:

A quality education resource and work experience placement service; and

The HIA Dream Factory.
The projects, which aim to attract more young people into
Western Australia
’s booming construction industry, is well supported by both industry and schools.
The youthBUILD initiative forms part of the HIA’s commitment to meeting WA’s continuing demand for skilled workers.
Boosting the number of tradespeople is critical to the future growth of the State’s building and construction industry.
