HIA Structure

HIA’s success as an industry association can be measured by its ability to deliver exceptional value and service to its members.

HIA draws strength from its regional diversity, while cohering the regions as a single unified national association (as distinct from separate autonomous state operations). This enables the Association to have a clear sense of purpose.

HIA’s vision is to be one association which:

  • speaks with a common voice on industry issues;
  • provides quality services at the lowest possible cost; and
  • achieves adherence by the industry to high standards of self-regulated commercial conduct.

HIA believes that a large and increasing membership lays the foundation for political strength and the means to expand servicing capacity.

HIA aims to maximise membership participation and services to members throughout its committee structure which is also the key vehicle for developing HIA policies and services.

The role of all HIA committees is to develop policies for implementation by HIA staff.  In reaching policy positions, committees may draw heavily on policy proposals and research undertaken by HIA staff, but the responsibility for determining policy rests with the committees.
