Do you and your workers have a GreenCard?
HIA has been advised that the Minister will shortly introduce a compulsory WhiteCard for all workers who perform building work on a construction site. This card will replace the voluntary GreenCard in
South Australia
.
A current GreenCard will satisfy the requirement to hold a WhiteCard until its date of expiration; however, the worker must attain a WhiteCard prior to the expiration of the GreenCard.
Unlike the current GreenCard, the new WhiteCard will not expire (unless the worker is out of the industry for greater than 2 years) and will be a 6 hour course.
In order to comply with the new requirements, you, your workers and subcontractors you have control of must all hold a current GreenCard or a WhiteCard.
