Support for South Australian bushfire communities
After the 2015 Sampson Flat and Pinery bushfires, South Australian HIA members generously assisted the affected communities to recover by providing financial contributions, volunteer labour and donations of building materials.
These efforts were channelled through Habitat for Humanity (South Australia) who co-ordinated a program with more than 300 volunteers helping over 100 families with the clean-up and recovery of their fire damaged homes and properties.
Once again HIA is inviting members to provide similar support to the rebuilding of the fire ravaged communities of Kangaroo Island and the Adelaide Hills.
100 per cent of any donations will go to the bushfire affected people.
Donations are tax deductible and can be made on line at www.habitat.org.au/sa
or via cheque payable to Habitat for Humanity SA who will co-ordinate the program, supervise volunteers to help clean up and re-build fire damaged homes and properties.
A tax invoice can be issued for donated funds and materials if required. Cheques can be sent direct to Habitat for Humanity, 1 Collingrove Avenue, Broadview SA 5083.
If you would like to volunteer your time or donate materials, please contact Habitat for Humanity SA via email at email@example.com.
Members with any other questions or in need of assistance following the fires should contact HIA on 1300 650 620.
