Hidden behind a modern façade is a luxurious sanctuary, earning this home by Metricon Homes the title of 2021 HIA Australian Display Home. Once over the threshold, the expansive interior opens onto the large alfresco area, creating a seamless transition between inside and out.
The opulent 5.5-metre-high cedar-lined ceiling sets the tone; creating an open, airy feel in the interior. The five-bedroom home is sleek and modern, with functionality considered in every detail.
This entertainer's delight wowed the judges. In particular, they commented on the complete privacy of the ground-floor guest bedroom, which includes an ensuite that offers both an indoor and outdoor shower.
The judges could not find fault with the Riviera and gave it top marks.
The HIA Australian Display Home, partnered by ActronAir, is presented to an individual house intended for reproduction as displayed or with standard variations.
The HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards are the ultimate platform to showcase the talents of the nation’s top builders and designers. This year’s winners were announced in a virtual presentation on 30 July. Winners are selected from state-based finalists, with awards in 22 separate categories including Professional Builders, display home, apprentice, bathrooms and kitchens.
HIA Managing Director Graham Wolfe said the HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards recognise the best in Australia’s residential building industry.
“HIA is committed to recognising the outstanding achievements of our members. HIA Awards allow us to acknowledge the skill of our members who excel in building exceptional homes, kitchens and bathrooms and run highly successful businesses.
“The workmanship of Award winners is exceptional; demonstrated in projects that push the boundaries in design and innovation,” Mr Wolfe concluded.
