Western Australia’s Webb & Brown-Neaves was announced as the winner of 2022 HIA Australian Display Home of the Year for a deceptively spacious smart home.
Behind the bronze-glazed facade, on a narrow urban block, is a contemporary smart home with an innate connection to nature. Integrated into the elevation of the house is a tree that’s intertwined throughout the family areas. Here, the indoor-outdoor entertainment zones are green spaces that live and grow with you.
This multi-generational home encompasses four bedrooms and a self-contained unit with private access. It features ecological materials, climate-responsive design, energy and water efficiency, water-wise landscaping and advanced technologies.
The judges agreed this is the future of residential design. Specific accolades for the innovative and exceptional use of biophilic design and achieving an impressive 8.1-star rating.
The home was announced the winner during the presentation of the 2022 HIA–CSR Australian Housing Awards on 23 April at the Gold Coast Convention Centre.
The HIA Australian Display Home is partnered by ActronAir.
HIA’s Managing Director Graham Wolfe said the HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards recognise the best in Australia’s residential building industry.
“HIA is committed to recognising the outstanding achievements of our members. The HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards allow us to acknowledge the skill and commitment of our members who excel in building exceptional homes, kitchens and bathrooms and have highly successful businesses.
“The workmanship of Award winners is exceptional; demonstrated in projects that push the boundaries in design and innovation. It is my absolute pleasure to congratulate each winner for their hard work and commitment to excellence,” Mr Wolfe added.
