Western Australia’s Ultimo Constructions was recognised for their commitment to customer service, business management and leadership, earning the title of 2021 HIA Australian Professional Small Builder / Renovator when the winners of the 2021 HIA–CSR Australian Housing Awards were announced on 30 July.
This is the third time the Perth-based business has proven it is one of the top building companies in Australia, with the business first nabbing the national award in 2019.
Strong customer service and team development initiatives are at the heart of Ultimo Constructions, ensuring it has experienced solid growth and success over the past decade.
A dual focus on property development and custom home building has helped to diversify its clientele and weather challenging market conditions. Over the past 12 months, Ultimo Constructions concentrated on branding, and launched a podcast series to inspire and educate people about the home building process.
A new growth strategic plan and model focuses on short-term operations, which the judges said was well thought out and clearly in use in every aspect of the business.
HIA Managing Director Graham Wolfe said the HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards recognise the best in Australia’s residential building industry.
“My congratulations also goes to our future tradespeople – our apprentices – who strive to be the best in all their pursuits. And to the professional builders and business partners who are ahead of the game in customer service, design and innovation, building quality and business practices,” Mr Wolfe said.
The HIA Australian Professional Builder/Renovator awards are divided into three categories, based on annual turnover. The Professional Small Builder/Renovator category, partnered by Companion Systems, is awarded to a small home builder which demonstrates commitment to excellence in customer service, business management and leadership.
