St Georges Constructions

St Georges Constructions

2022 HIA Australian Townhouse / Villa of the Year

Partnered by Holcim

Winner: St Georges Constructions, South Australia

St Georges Constructions from South Australia was acknowledged as the winner of the 2022 HIA Australian Townhouse / Villa of the Year, partnered by Holcim, for a home which embodies harmonious connectivity. Blurring the lines between interior and exterior are the clear sightlines, the abundance of natural light, green space, and eco-materials. The environment created enhances the physical and psychological wellbeing of its occupants.

Clever use of full-length windows and skylights reduces reliance on energy resources to illuminate rooms and areas that would otherwise suffer from lack of light. Lightwells provide ambience and green space inside the home.

A wine cellar was installed under the stairs, using an under-utilised area. Judges were particularly impressed with the environmentally friendly materials, both inside and out, which foster wellbeing and lower the carbon footprint of the build.

The HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards are the ultimate platform to showcase the talents of the nation’s top builders and designers. Winners are selected from state-based finalists, with awards in 23 separate categories including Professional Builders, display home, apprentice, bathrooms and kitchens.

St Georges Constructions were announced as the winner during the 2022 HIA–CSR Australian Housing Awards presentation on 23 April hosted by Peter Helliar.

The HIA Australian Townhouse/Villa of the Year category is for an individual residential dwelling within a townhouse/villa development.
