St Georges Constructions from South Australia was acknowledged as the winner of the 2022 HIA Australian Townhouse / Villa of the Year, partnered by Holcim, for a home which embodies harmonious connectivity. Blurring the lines between interior and exterior are the clear sightlines, the abundance of natural light, green space, and eco-materials. The environment created enhances the physical and psychological wellbeing of its occupants.
Clever use of full-length windows and skylights reduces reliance on energy resources to illuminate rooms and areas that would otherwise suffer from lack of light. Lightwells provide ambience and green space inside the home.
A wine cellar was installed under the stairs, using an under-utilised area. Judges were particularly impressed with the environmentally friendly materials, both inside and out, which foster wellbeing and lower the carbon footprint of the build.
