This redesign of a heritage-listed 1915 bungalow creates a harmonious balance between original character and contemporary luxury. Pressed tin ceilings, timber bay windows, fireplaces, and architraves were restored, while a dramatic W-shaped extension floods the home with northern light. The single-level layout prioritizes accessibility, with wide doorways, hallways, bathrooms, and a custom pedestrian lift for easy movement. Soaring 5-metre-high scissor trusses, timber-lined and coffered ceilings, travertine-clad chimneys, and Oak flooring enrich the living, dining, and kitchen spaces. French villa-inspired features, including arched loggias, integrate with heritage details, resulting in a home that is light-filled, elegant, and thoughtfully designed to support both luxury living and long-term mobility needs.
