Bathroom of the Year

Winner: Lane Group

This bathroom is truly unique, providing an exciting and well considered design that takes advantage of the stunning water views from the shower, vanity and outside bath. The timber clad outdoor bath manages to feel private by melting into the timber deck and creating the impression of floating at night due to cleverly placed LED lighting. A thoughtful touch is the indoor flame heater being positioned so that it can be viewed and enjoyed when relaxing in the bath. A large curved shower room clad in charcoal tiles provides uninterrupted water views from the floor to ceiling wall of glass looking out onto the deck with strategically placed decals to preserve privacy when in the shower. Random timber detailing on the walls and sliding doors in the bathroom space provide a unique feature that adds pattern, texture, warmth and interest that will only look better as it ages.  The vanity is spacious and once again only separated from the view by a floor to ceiling piece of glass with storage cleverly hidden in the timber wall cladding. This bathroom was beautifully detailed and difficult design features have been faultlessly executed.
