Residential Building Designer
Winner: My Build
The Boathouse design pays tribute to the history of the land it is built on. The exterior features the 45° pitched roof that is the main body of the home and stands on solid Galvanised steel sub structure. Internally, the height of the 45° pitch is celebrated by the hand made solid Tas Oak black trusses that span the width of the building. The Baltic pine ceiling in the main living room runs true with the roof trusses further accentuating the volume of the space. The main living area is compact but comfortable, with floor-to-ceiling windows to capture the views of the Tamar River and surrounding hills. Dark timber stain and natural timbers achieve this in spades. A cantilevered deck gives the occupants the feeling of being suspended over the Tamar River.
