CPC30211 Certificate III in Carpentry

This qualification provides the essential skills required to gain a trade in carpentry, covering work in both residential and commercial applications.

The units of competency cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as a specialist field of work.

The construction industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all units of competency to be delivered in this context.

This training program has been grouped into a series of short courses, which provide a progressive and practical learning experience. The short courses are:

• Concreting, Heights and Excavation
• Wall Framing
• Roof Systems
• Trusses Roof Systems
• Windows and Doors
• Fix-out and Wet Areas

• Stair and Ramp Formwork
• Cladding and Bulkheads

On successful completion of this course, you will graduate with a Certificate for the nationally recognised qualification:

• Certificate III in Carpentry - CPC30211

HIA will conduct a pre-enrolment review with you to make sure that this program is suitable for your career goals, current skills and experience.

All participants will be required to undertake a language, literacy and numeracy assessment before enrolment.

You will need to commit 520 hours of face-to-face learning time for this training. Contact your local HIA office to find out more information about delivery schedules.

Outside of this allocation of time, you will need to undertake self-directed learning through research, project work and assessment tasks.

The elective units [E] listed below represent the only approved elective unit options offered by HIA. This is a reduced list which has been taken from the specified electives list contained within the packaging rules for this qualification.

To achieve this qualification, you must demonstrate competency in:

30 nationally recognised units of competency - 22 core units [C] and 8 elective units [E]
