Site management ready

Are you a tradie looking to upskill and move into site management, but don’t have the time to complete your full building qualification? Perhaps you’re currently working outside the residential construction industry, and want to transition over into a quality or project management function?

The residential construction industry remains strong, with high demand for skilled individuals across all aspects of construction. 

The HIA Site Management Ready part-qualification may be the perfect course for you if you want to strengthen your skills. Completion of this part-qualification will have you set up for success in coordinating and monitoring construction projects. Credit transfers for this course can also be transferred into attaining a full CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) in the future.

You will learn how to:

• Identify and plan for operational site requirements and resources, including subcontractors, materials, plant and equipment, and site access and control
• Prepare project schedules and manage project timeframes, including adjustments for anticipated delays and disruptions
• Evaluate and report on the condition of adjacent structures as part of project preparation 
• Coordinate onsite project monitoring, safety & quality control and inspection, remediation and rectification, and associated client management
• Manage communication and record keeping systems and administration of projects in coordination with the office-based teams

No pre-requisite training required. All learners will be required to undertake a language, literacy and numeracy assessment before enrolment.

NSW participants

Training under JobTrainer is fee-free and fully funded by the NSW and Commonwealth governments (individuals working within the building and construction industry or job seekers)

There will be around 4 live tutorials spaced out over 1 month. Additional Support Sessions may also be available.

During your training, access to resources is required and may include various current industry-specific codes and standards. If you do wish to purchase these materials, your regional HIA Training staff can provide you with a list of these resources and their indicative costs.

Where there are specific units that require access to onsite equipment, this will be arranged with you directly, and may involve face to face training at your nearest HIA office

These units of competency will be delivered as standalone units and includes assessment of foundation skills that are embedded in the Training Package. Where foundation skills are not explicit in a unit competency, they will be included in assessment tasks.

• CPCCBC4007 Plan building or construction work.
• CPCCBC4008 Supervise site communication and administration processes for building and construction projects.

Upon completion of this part qualification you will receive a Statement of Attainment.
