Updates

• NSW General Housing Specification
has been updated to reference NCC 2022 Amendment 2 and the ABCB Housing Provisions Standard Amendment 2, which were released by the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) on 29 July 2025. The purpose of this minor amendment is to align the NCC with recent changes to the Disability (Access to Premises - Buildings) Standards 2010 (Premises Standards), which have limited technical application other than to Class 1b to 9 and certain Class 10 buildings for public use. The new amendments must still be referenced in the specification where the construction certificate or complying development certificate application for a project is submitted on or after 29 July 2025. Will apply to new contracts and contracts In Progress from 31 July 2025.


• SA Building Specification
has been updated in accordance with Housing Provisions Standard (SA Variations) including Clause 10 Steel Framing Generally and Table at Clause 12.7.4 for steel lintels. Will apply to new contracts and contracts In Progress from 1 July 2025.


• TAS Residential Building Contract
has updated clauses 44 to 46 in relation to dispute resolution including: parties seeking to resolve a dispute themselves under Clause 44, the mediation process under Clause 45, and options to proceed to TASCAT under Clause 46.


• SA Building Contract for New Homes
Updates include an "all weather access" definition and only the Progress Payment schedule selected included in the contract. Will apply to new contracts and contracts In Progress from 11 June 2025.
