Held in May at superb grounds of The Vines Country Club Resort attended by HIA members and conference attendees whilst raising funds for the Foundation and our efforts towards mental health awareness.

Golf Day – QLD Windaroo

The Queensland HIA Golf Day once again supported the Foundation with fundraising at the Charity Hole where teams were encouraged to “Buy a Birdie”. With a field full of players the day was a success and raised funds for the Foundation and its work with mental health awareness.

Hamilton Island Golf Day

The 2017 National HIA Golf Day was held at world renowned Hamilton Island Golf Course. With spectacular views of the surrounding Whitsunday Islands and Coral Sea the challenging course allowed guests to enjoy the morning and raise funds for the Foundation.

Hunter Dog Kennel Challenge

The inaugural HIA Charitable Foundation Dog Kennel Challenge was also a resounding success. “Unleashed” with broad design guidelines 8 kennels were completed by HIA members and the craftsmanship and excellence was clear, with all kennels sold via auction at the Show. Download for more information.

HIA Charitable Foundation Golf Day

The national HIA Charitable Foundation Golf Day was held once again at The Glades Golf Club on the Gold Coast, Queensland. Generous support provided from sponsors and players raised significant funds for the Foundation.

HIA Charity Home

HIA Charity Home Sponsored by Stockland and Dale Alcock Homes

The HIA Charitable Foundation together with Stockland and Dale Alcock Homes have come together to build the Foundations inaugural Charity Home. The four-bedroom home was sold in March 2016 with the new owners now enjoying their stunning home. Stockland donated a block of land for the project at the beachside Amberton community in Eglinton, in Perth’s northern suburbs, and Dale Alcock Homes, part of the ABN Group, donated its services and skills to build the home. The project was generously supported by suppliers within the industry and raised substantial funds for mental health in the residential building industry.

Miele dining

Fine Dining with Miele

In support of the HIA Charitable Foundation, Miele contributed a unique invite only fine-dining experience at its state-of-the-art Miele Centers in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth, where they’ve helped raise more than $40,000.  The evenings meal was prepared in front of guests in the amazing Miele showrooms by the head chef at Vue de Mond.  Miele invested a significant amount in organising the dinners, and the company also generously donated one each of its new revolutionary washers and dryers to each state’s silent auction.

HIA Leaders Circle Luncheon

HIA Leaders Circle Luncheon

Industry leaders from across Australia met in Melbourne to discuss mental health and the residential construction industry. A presentation The Hon Jeff Kennett, quickly and powerfully brought to everyone’s attention the damage the residential construction industry is facing in the area of mental illness.

Those in attendance expressed their support for the valuable work of the Foundation and its aim to raise awareness and support to aid the fight against depression, anxiety and reduce the suicide rate within the building industry. Proudly sponsored by American Express.

HIA Insurance Services, a joint venture between AON and HIA, joined forces with the HIA Charitable Foundation to recognise that mental health is a significant issue within our industry.

The Housing Industry Association Charitable Foundation (HIACF) has joined with leading mental health advocate, beyondblue, in a new initiative to fight depression, anxiety and reduce suicide amongst workers in residential building.
