The 2015 HIA Charitable Foundation Golf Day was once again held at The Glades Golf Club on the Gold Coast. HIA would like to thank all the generous sponsors and players as the golf day raised a whopping $18,000 for the Foundation.
Many players took advantage of the enjoyment of a charity event with there being many shenanigans on the course resulting in players sent to the ‘sin bin’, Infringement Notices issued and DNA and breath testing conducted by the HIA BABes (Behavioural Adjustment Bureau Entertainment Squad) for inappropriate conduct or just bad golf techniques. Although a dispute is pending from Pino Monaco (HIA National Vice President) which reads, “I wish to protest my innocence as I was wrongly fined by Kurt and Mel and I give notice that I have lodged an appeal at which I will be seeking to set aside the fine. I expect to be successful and will secure a full refund of the fine of $5.00 reducing your total to 17,995.00.”
There was also wheeling and dealing negotiated between players and the HIA bookies at the ‘Punters Holes’. It was a bit concerning at one stage with more players collecting than donating but in true form proceeds were raised.
HIA thanks all players and sponsors for providing their valuable time and generous support of the HIA Charitable Foundation. Special thanks are extended to sponsors who contributed prizes and goodies in the player packs
