Flat lays are no longer limited to style magazines, the images are now seen on almost every social platform and from a variety of accounts. Created with a bird’s eye view, the photos show a number of items laid out flat across any surface.

Keep things neat or sprawl them around, centre all of your items in one spot, or fill the frame completely, experiment with new, interesting backgrounds or use the same clean surface for consistency. There are no hard and fast rules to the flat lay, so you can have fun adding and moving things around until you get a look you’re happy with.
