Currentlly, HIA is hoping to hold the HIA 2021 National Conference in person. Beacon Lighting’s blog provides industry professional with inspiration, tips and advice on how to finish off projects with finesse. From indoor and outdoor lighting to ceiling fans, the blog site has it all. You can filter the article by selecting the lighting fixture style, finding the right position and type of light (such as, solar, LED, smart lighting and energy efficient).

O’Shea & Sons Builders has just launched a collaboration video and podcast series – The Journey Home. The series features interviews with various trade professionals, and video footage from supply centres and onsite building projects. The aim is to take the homeowner on a build journey to learn more about what happens behind the scenes.

Sixteen episodes are currently available in both video and podcast format.

Gardening Australia television presenter and architect Dr Josh Byrne has created a guide to building an affordable, eco-friendly home for the future. The Sustainable House Handbook teaches how to create high-performing 10-star homes in accordance with the Australian Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS), while keeping to a manageable budget. 

As a dedicated HIA GreenSmart Professional, Josh also speaks to members about how you can use the HIA GreenSmart program to your advantage.

In addition to the Australian Government’s Supporting Apprentices and Trainees (SAT) stimulus package, a new wage subsidy has been introduced to operate alongside SAT. Much like SAT, the new subsidy will amount for 50 per cent of all eligible apprentice or trainee wages, to a maximum of $7000 per quarter. 

SAT payments exist from 1 July 2020 until 31 March 2021. While the new wage subsidy commenced 5 October 2020, it will be available until 30 September 2021.
