2019 HIA Australian Apartment Complex

Aria Property Group took home the title of 2019 HIA Australian Apartment Complex with this shimmering glass tower in the heart of Brisbane's CBD

Taking out the award for Australian Apartment Complex at the 2019 HIA–CSR Australian Housing Awards ceremony on 25 May in Perth was Queensland member Aria Property Group.

The winning project was for the company's Brisbane apartment complex, Oxley & Stirling, which also won the 2019 HIA Australian Outdoor Project award.

From the outside, the building's curved double-glazed glass building catches the eye as it changes from green to gold in different light. From the inside, it’s the stellar view overlooking Brisbane’s iconic riverbank that inspires.

Oxley & Stirling – commended for the well thought-out floor plans and abundance of natural light in each apartment – accommodates for entertaining in a way most apartments can’t.

Common spaces, such as a large dining room with a chef for hire, a wine cellar where residents often host poker nights, a movie theatre and library, are only some of the features offered in this impressive build.

The award recognises a residential apartment building which is two or more storeys and contains at least two self-contained dwellings, celebrating excellence in a number of areas including design features, integration of the buildings in context with common areas, external construction, and other features contributing to liveable communities.

This year's national award winners were announced in front of hundreds of residential building professionals and industry leaders on the final night of the HIA 2019 National Conference.

In addition to Apartment Complex and Outdoor Project, Queensland also took out the title of the 2019 HIA Australian Kitchen of the Year.
