Perth-based builder Giorgi has won the 2019 HIA Australian Apartment of the Year award for a luxe two-storey apartment that features a contemporary material palette and functional living spaces.
This year’s award winners were revealed before hundreds of industry leaders at the prestigious HIA–CSR Australian Housing Awards ceremony held as the final night of the HIA 2019 National Conference in Perth on 25 May.
The winning project boasts a 10-metre Italian marble splashback in the kitchen and designer appliances, as well as a private pool downstairs.
A two-storey void, which houses the stone and glass staircase, adds impact upon entry, while the upper level living spaces offer functional entertaining capabilities with a built-in-barbeque and pizza oven. On the lower level, a secondary living space separates the second bedroom and master bedroom with ensuite, complete with a freestanding bath tub, to create a welcoming sanctuary.
HIA– CSR Australian Housing Awards are the ultimate platform to showcase the talents of the nation’s top builders and designers. Winners are selected from state-based finalists, with awards in 22 separate categories.
The Apartment of the Year category is for an individual residential dwelling within an apartment complex, which may be any dwelling within the complex, including the penthouse.
Western Australia won five national housing awards in total, including the Project Home, Renovation/Addition Project, Specialised Housing and the Small Professional Builder/Renovator categories.
