Winner: Minosa, New South Wales

Taking home the title of Australian Kitchen Design, NSW design company Minosa was recognised for excellence in design before hundreds of industry leaders on 25 May as part of the HIA 2019 National Conference.

The prestigious HIA–CSR Australian Housing Awards, held on the final night of the conference in Perth, celebrate the talents of the nation’s top builders and designers with winners selected from state-based finalists in 22 separate categories.

The Kitchen Design category is awarded in recognition of excellence in the design, innovation and flair of a renovated or new residential project.

Judges were impressed by the bright and airy feel inside this compact space. Using light finishes and clever design, the kitchen maximises each area to create a versatile culinary domain.

For a client who loves to cook and entertain, the design needed to offer functionality and accessible storage options for a long list of appliances.

The cabinetry integrated into the side of, and above, the bench ensures everything is within reach during food preparation and quick to store away for a clean, minimalist look.

In addition to Kitchen Design, the region was also the winner for the categories of Australian Home of the Year, Custom Built Home, Townhouse/Villa Development, Medium Professional Builder/Renovator and Australian Apprentice.
