Taking out the HIA Australian Apartment Complex award during the 2020 HIA–CSR Australian Housing Awards virtual ceremony on 29 May was Crown Group in NSW.
The winning project was for the company's Arc complex, located in the heart of Sydney's CBD, a true masterpiece that is both reflective of the city’s architectural history and future.
Against a heritage-inspired brickwork facade on the lower section of the building, four modern and luxurious towers emerge onto the skyline, topped with soaring rooftop archways. A vaulted ‘Ice-Cave’ continues the arches theme internally, with sculpted undulating layers that give the pool, spa and gymnasium a uniquely futuristic feel.
A public thoroughfare between the apartments is home to thriving retail spaces where residents can stay connected to the city and enjoy further amenities for executive city living.
The HIA Australian Apartment Complex award, partnered by
Toyota, recognises a residential apartment building which is two or more storeys and contains at least two self-contained dwellings, celebrating excellence in a number of areas including design features, integration of the buildings in context with common areas, external construction, and other features contributing to liveable communities.
In addition to Apartment Complex, NSW also took home the Outdoor Project and Spec Home categories during the 2020 national awards presentation.
