Kim Duffin Design and
MyStyle Homes (QLD) nabbed the 2020 HIA Australian Bathroom Design award for North Queensland for a sophisticated bathroom that masterfully balances flair and flow.
The accolade was announced during an online ceremony of the 2020 HIA–CSR Australian Housing Awards held on 29 May, with the pair also taking out the 2020 HIA Australian Kitchen Design.
The winning bathroom offers a refreshingly light and inviting retreat for its homeowners, its freestanding bath and open shower delightfully showcased aboard an L-shaped plinth lined by textured grey porcelain tiles.
A marble vanity and charming shaker style cabinetry contrasts against Queensland Walnut timber, while gold tapware and classic blue upholstery in the adjoining robe add a sense of vibrancy.
Judges were impressed with the well planned zones that create an open, easy flow which takes advantage of the exquisite view afforded by the location.
The custom built home featuring this bathroom proved to be one of high calibre this year, with the project also taking out the 2020 HIA–CSR Australian People's Choice Home of the Year award.
The HIA Australian Bathroom Design award, partnered by
Caroma Industries, recognises excellence in design of a new or renovated bathroom project.
