Victorian builder Thomas Archer Homes was announced as the winner of 2020 HIA Australian Project Home award for a stunning light-filled abode perfect for the modern family.
The acknowledgement was made during the 2020 HIA–CSR Australian Housing Awards’ virtual presentation on 29 May, a first for the Housing Industry Association.
Contemporary, clever design are the hallmarks of this elegant two-storey, four-bedroom project home, which features a winning combination of black and white finishes.
These finishes effortlessly blend together, beginning with the eye-catching render and timber exterior.
Upon entry, a generous seven-metre void and vestibule creates an instantaneous, dramatic sense of space and light, complemented by lightly-grained timber floorboards that flow into the open plan living area.
Light and dark tones are perfectly balanced in the home’s modern kitchen, its functionality soaring with the inclusion of a butler’s pantry and integrated study nook.
The Project Home category, partnered by InfraBuild Construction Solutions, is for an individual house based on a display home, sales brochure or the like for a repeatable design, tailored to suit the needs of the client and the site. This includes manufactured or prebuilt homes assembled onsite.
Victorian HIA members were the recipients of four national awards this year, including Professional Major Builder, Business Partner, Renovation/Addition Project and Project Home.
