The 2020 HIA–CSR Australian Housing Awards announced 21 winners from across the country on Friday 29 May in a special online ceremony, a first in the award program’s decades-long history.
The awards acknowledged exemplar housing projects as well as major builders, small businesses and industry professionals from the Australian residential building industry, with the entrants judged on a range of factors, including quality of workmanship, creative design and business acumen.
HIA members are renowned for their excellent workmanship and attention to detail, representing the industry with inventiveness, passion and expertise.
Exemplifying these standards to the highest degree was this year’s major winner, BJ Millar Constructions in Queensland, who took out the coveted 2020 HIA–CSR Australian Home of the Year award.
HIA Managing Director Graham Wolfe said the HIA–CSR Australian Housing Awards are the pinnacle of the housing awards and recognise the best in industry.
‘The awards allow us to acknowledge members who excel in building exceptional homes, kitchens and bathrooms, and run highly successful businesses,’ he said.
‘The winners have surpassed the highest standards in workmanship and pushed the boundaries with design and innovation. It is my absolute pleasure to congratulate each winner for their hard work and commitment to excellence in both building and business practices.’
