Building and Renovation Show

Last Saturday’s spring HIA Building & Renovation Show was a classic, with thousands of visitor’s mixing with HIA Home Inspirations exhibitor’s, special guests and live entertainment.

HIA Regional Executive Director, Craig Jennion, said “We have had an extremely successful day at our Mayfield West centre with great crowds and a really positive response to the many displays on the day.”

The response was sensational with many people spending hours wandering through the exhibits talking to the experts and picking up ideas and inspirations for their new home or renovation project.

The major drawcard was the opportunity for attendees to go into the draw for the lucky door major prize – a $5000 window furnishing package generously supplied by Classic Blinds and Shutters.

Classic Blinds and Shutters kicked off the seminars for the day presenting on Window Coverings for your Home. It was great to have Australia’s rapid renovation expert Naomi Findlay present as part of the series and share her renovation secrets. Bristol delivered the latest trends on colour and Tailored HQ provided wonderful Home Design ideas to the many visitors that attended the free information seminars.

The event also featured the ever popular ‘HIA Ask an Expert’ area where visitors could sit down and ask questions with a Bathroom Renovator, Builder, Electrician, and Kitchen Manufacturer.

The Show once again was a family-friendly event, with live entertainment by musician Kellie Cain and lots of free children’s entertainment including face painting by Ruby the Clown and special guest appearances by Bob the Builder and Prime Possum.

HIA is pleased to be able to offer this type of event in Newcastle as it showcases what is possible in the housing industry using local builders, tradesman, manufacturers and suppliers.

If you weren’t able to attend the weekend show, the centre is open 7 days a week ensuring that HIA continues to showcase the latest trends in renovation, building, home improvements and outdoor living.

If you’re thinking of starting a project, or are in the middle of one and need advice on how to proceed, the HIA Home Inspirations Centre is well worth a visit, and entry is completely free.
