Reissue of general safety induction white card

February 04, 2019

HIA has been advised that from the 1st of February 2019 new rules apply to obtaining or replacing the General Safety Induction (White Card).

The Queensland Government Office Of Industrial Relations has advised that from 1 February 2019 new rules will apply if you are wanting to obtain or replace the General Safety Induction (White Card)

• You will no longer be able to gain a White Card via an online training provider unless you live more than 100km from a registered training provider.
• If you lose, destroy or have your Blue Card (previous coloured card to the white card) stolen you are no longer able to have it replaced with a White Card and you will need to re-sit the course.
• If you need to replace your White Card you must provide to the training provider a copy of the statement of attainment that you received with your white card. If you do not have the statement of attainment you will have to re-sit the course.
• If you hold a white card attained in another state and you need a replacement card you will either have to re-sit the course or seek a replacement from a registered training organisation in that state.
NOTE: You can still work if you have a Blue Card! You do not need to upgrade at this time.

The good news is that if you are wanting a replacement card and you originally completed your training through HIA after 2009, HIA will be able to provide you with a copy of your statement of attainment.
