Hosts needed for available apprentices

HIA is currently looking for Qualified Trades in Carpentry, Bricklaying, Plumbing and Electrical based on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane to host apprentices that HIA has interviewed.

HIA is also seeking hosts to take on apprentice carpenters that have become available in the Gold Coast and Brisbane regions.

2nd Year Carpenter – Arundel

Has car and licence, has been involved in various projects, completing tasks such as decking, framing and demolition.

1st Year Landscaper - The Gap

Has Car & Licence, small amount of experience with hard landscaping and pool refurbishments, keen and eager to have trade under his belt and become qualified. Fit, strong and reliable.

3rd Year Carpenter – Victoria Point

Car and licence, good experience working within both the renovations area and new homes.

2nd Year Bricklayer – Birkdale

Car and licence, site set up, can lay bricks and starting to learn block laying.

Business Admin

HIA Apprentices has recently interviewed 2 great applicants for a business admin role. If you think your business would benefit from having a full time Business Admin Trainee, and are able to make them a part of your team, please do not hesitate to contact us. Both applicants are based on the North side of Brisbane and have car & licence.

HIA Apprentices has the experience

As a building association that focuses on residential construction and with over 30 years of experience in the management of apprentices HIA understands the needs of the residential building industry; we know that flexibility to adapt is important.

At HIA Apprentices we take care of everything from the first interview of a prospective apprentice right through to completion including TAFE and mentoring the apprentices whilst they are working with you. HIA has adopted a rigorous selection process to make sure we are only selecting the candidates that actually want to start and complete an apprenticeship.

Things HIA Apprentices take care of :

  • Matching an apprentice with a host
  • Annual leave, Sick Leave, RDO Leave accrual
  • TAFE
  • Mentoring – to help when an apprentice goes through the inevitable tough times
  • PPE – Topped up when a site visit is done.
  • Assist apprentice with the tools for trade loan.

Taking on an apprentice requires not only a commitment to provide high quality training but also accepting the responsibility to stay on top of all the administrative requirements. HIA can take care of those administrative requirements leaving you to take care of the training.
