HIA uses its seat at the Skills Roundtable to identify issues and propose solutions
July 21, 2020
HIA attended a Skills Roundtable on 1st July 2020 hosted by the Premier and Deputy Premier.
The session focused on industry training and workforce development in the building and construction sector.
This is in recognition of the significant role the industry will play in the COVID-19 recovery and into the future.
Key themes discussed included apprentice completion rates and mentoring, support for small business, better promotion of career pathways, pre-employment programs and improving gender diversity.
HIA will continue to work with Skills Tasmania and the TBCITB to develop strategies to skill, train and enhance the construction workforce.
