UTA's second year architecture students

February 27, 2019

UTAS’s second year architecture students have to visit an active house construction site each week this semester. They need to find a suitable project and negotiate access with the builder. Most of these sites will be around Launceston but there may be some in other centres.

UTAS insurance covers the students’ activity and they will complete risk assessments of their tasks.

Also, the students have to comply with any safety requirement that apply on the site.

This assignment is to help the students understand two important things:
  1. the sequence of activity that occurs on a domestic building site
  2. the builder’s role in realising designs.

If approached, please help the students if you can.

If you have any questions, contact Professor Gregory Nolan at UTAS, Inveresk Campus in Launceston.
