2020 HIA-CSR Victorian Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Awards open for entries

January 08, 2020

Every day across Victoria, HIA members are hard at work building absolutely outstanding homes for their clients.

Take a moment to think about some of the ones you’ve worked on in the past year. Do any come to mind that you’re especially proud of?

If so, then we encourage you to consider entering them in the HIA Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom awards! They represent the pinnacle of excellence in the residential building industry. And with a wide range of categories and price brackets available, the HIA awards are an excellent platform to showcase your projects of all shapes and sizes.

“Don’t be afraid of entering just because your project didn’t have the biggest budget, or isn’t in the inner suburbs,” says HIA Victorian event manager Stuart West. “The awards are all about recognising and celebrating the fact that HIA members are building fantastic quality homes, at all price points, all across the state.”

“As just one example, Jason Wescott Builder won the overall Northern Victoria Home of the Year title in 2019, for a project in Maiden Gully that was entered in the custom built home up to $500,000 category. If you’ve built a home you’re really proud of, we encourage you to get involved and enter!”

Winning a HIA award, and even just being selected as a finalist, gives your business a money-can’t-buy opportunity to showcase your company and the quality of your work to potential clients, the industry and the community at large.

A couple of additions and updates have been made to the Victorian awards for 2020:

  • The Apartment Complex category now has price brackets, breaking entries into complexes up to $10 million, from $10 million to $20 million, and over $20 million, giving more opportunities for developments of all sizes to get recognition.
  • Kitchen and Bathroom in a Display Home categories now have price brackets for homes up to $500,000 and over $500,001, acknowledging the outstanding work being done throughout the industry.
  • The number of project photos has been increased to 15 for housing entries, and 10 for kitchen and bathroom entries, giving entrants the opportunity to showcase additional aspects of their projects.

Entries are open until 5.00pm on Thursday 30 April 2020, and there is an early-bird discount for entries received by Friday 27 March.
