CPD is on the way

March 26, 2019

The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) is gathering information to inform the development of a continuing professional development (CPD) framework for registered building practitioners.

If you are a building practitioner registered in Victoria, the DELWP would like you to fill out a short survey to help us understand your views on CPD.

The survey closes Wednesday, 10 April 2019.

Take survey

CPD is the process of undertaking and recording professional training, completed after initial registration, for the purpose of maintaining and/or improving a practitioner’s professional skills and knowledge relevant to their scope of work.

The development and implementation of CPD frameworks for registered building practitioners, as well as registered and licensed plumbers, is required to operationalise recent amendments to the Building Act 1993.

The key rationale for CPD is to ensure that practitioners’ skills and knowledge are kept up to date and that practitioners are informed of new developments, whether technical or regulatory, that affect their practice.
