BGC acquires Midland Brick

April 07, 2021

BGC (Australia) Pty Ltd (BGC) is pleased to announce it has completed the transaction to acquire Midland Brick and has assumed management control of its clay brick manufacturing and concrete masonry businesses and staff as of 1 April 2021.

This acquisition reinforces BGC’s commitment to the local manufacturing and strengthens the group’s ability to service the Western Australian building sector through a period of predicted high demand.

BGC chief executive Danny Cooper said the combined capability of our two iconic brands would achieve a positive outcome for the State’s builders and ensure supply certainty in a challenging period.

“We have an exciting future ahead of us, where we can optimise our brick and masonry offering across the multiple sites and create a unified business that combines the finest qualities, attributes and strengths of both Midland Brick and Brikmakers,” Mr Cooper said.

“As indicated, we will retain the Midland Brick brand and our customers can look forward to having an even greater suite of proudly Western Australian made building materials to help build a better future for more Australians”.

BGC will continue to run separate manufacturing facilities at their existing locations. The group will commence the development of a unified business strategy, which will drive growth in the combined businesses going forward.
