Changes to branch drain connections
If the sanitary draining system has not been installed with new regulatory changes in mind, plumbers and builders may find that the first-floor ceiling joists aren’t deep enough to allow for an added grade of pipe.
The NCC 2022 accommodates changes to AS/NZS 3500.2:2021 Sanitary plumbing and drainage, which relate to junction connections where the main drain and the branch drain are both DN100mm. Under the new edition of the Standard, which will be adopted alongside NCC 2022, the entry level of the branch drain will need to be elevated at an incline of no less than 15 degrees above the horizontal.
